Hello There

Good Day and welcome to my little world on the Internet.

Name is KJ aka Kelly Jo or Camera Wench, a professional photographer currently located in Las Vegas. Beyond that, I am not sure what to say in my first post!

To begin with I love photography, and I believe this is reflected in my portfolio. I love working with my clients, the animals especially and their people. With my photography I have found a way to combine my love of horses, rodeo, bull riding, wild animals and nature.

Otherwise, I had never really thought about writing a blog. Being quiet, and shy which works great with animals, makes talking about one’s self rather challenging.

But, people are always asking me what I shoot, how and why about certain pictures or events. I never have a problem answering them. It’s not magic, it’s just a something I love to do, and although it is a job, I never consider it as one. Rather a labor of love.

I was finally convinced to put it all down in a blog… so here it is. All the questions, comments, and other tidbits I have learned about my passion and profession will be posted here in good time.

I have never considered myself much of a teacher, but my mentor always told me to pass it on, and reap the rewards. He always said that his payment for teaching me was for me to mentor one other person. I have one person, who refers to me as her Mentor… not sure if the term fits, but it seems to have stuck. She and I shoot on a regular basis, and I guess you can teach a dog new tricks, as she has helped me see things from a different perspective. The more I do this, and the more people I get to meet, the greater my knowledge becomes. Now I am beginning to understand just what he meant.

As I look into the future, I will strive to put my thoughts and comments down for the world to see. Discuss what I shoot, where and why, plus answering your questions. Perhaps even meeting you in person one day, and seeing your great works of art.
